Paper prescriptions are outdated
Old paper prescriptions are no longer needed with the ePrescription service. A patient can walk to his closest pharmacy to get his prescription medicine directly after his visit to the doctor. See how the LINK solutions work in 5 simple steps:
Step 1
The doctor uses an electronic healthcare system at the healthcare provider to send an electronic prescription to the pharmacy.
Step 2
From the electronic healthcare system, the prescription is encrypted and sent through the LINK solution where it is formatted to the format of the pharmacy ePrescription system. The LINK solution guaranties a safe communication link with encrypted and correctly formatted information.
Step 3
An ePrescription service is connected to the pharmacy. This service repeatedly connects to the LINK solution to check whether the pharmacy has any prescriptions waiting. If so, the service connects to the LINK solution and downloads the prescriptions.
Step 4
The patient can now show his ID at the pharmacy and collect his prescription medicine.
Step 5
A notification is returned to the healthcare provider, to let them know that the prescription has been received by the pharmacy.
ePrescriptions are "in"
As shown in the 5 simple steps above, the ePresciption solution is an easy, secure and fast way to handle prespcriptions. The solution is time-saving for the patient as well as the practitioner and preserves the environment by cutting down on the use of tonnes of paper each year.
Improving Health
A recent study carried out in Sweden by Gartner called "eHealth for a Healthier Europe" showed that the benefits from using ePrescriptions are many. The study shows that by using electronic transfer of prescriptions approximately 5 million yearly outpatient errors could be avoided - another good reason to choose ePrescriptions.
